Tracey Follows is a futurist, author and researcher whose work examines the changing relationship between technology, identity and human agency.

She is Founder and CEO of Futuremade, Guest Lecturer at London Business School, and was formerly Visiting Professor in Digital Futures and Identity at Staffordshire University. She holds a First Class degree in Philosophy and an MSc in Technical Change and Industrial Strategy from the University of Manchester. Her research sits at the intersection of strategic foresight, artificial intelligence, cyberpsychology, systems thinking and the future of selfhood, with a particular interest in how emerging technologies reshape autonomy, decision-making and our capacity to act upon the future.

Tracey is the author of The Future of You and creator of the System & Self foresight framework. She is also the originator of Me:chine, a conceptual and research framework for human–machine selfhood examining how the machinable and unmachinable dimensions of human identity come together in the age of AI.

She is an Associate Fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science and serves on the Lifeboat Foundation’s Futurists and Human Trajectories advisory boards. Her previous governance and leadership roles include serving on the Board of the UK Advertising Standards Authority and as Chair of the APG, the UK professional community for strategists.

Tracey has advised organisations including Google, Amazon, Coca-Cola, Virgin and Sky, and has spoken at UN Headquarters in New York, Fortune Brainstorm AI, the FT Global Boardroom, the Financial Times Global Wealth Management Summit and Finovate, as well as delivering the closing keynote at FT Tech Live.

Her wider leadership experience includes serving on the Board of the UK Advertising Standards Authority, chairing the APG, and advising the Lifeboat Foundation through its Futurists and Human Trajectories boards. She is also one of BBC Radio 4’s resident futurists on Dough.
